My Husband Hates going to the store to pick things up. Every time I ask I get the *sigh* and the "c'mon" I don't want to hear all that garbage. Besides, when he gives me that response, I usually snap at him and that's a bunch of garbage too. So today I needed him to stop at the store to pick up a few things. I sent him a text and a few more were exchanged.
Me: I will suck you off later if you stop at the store and get: water, mac & cheese and butter!
Him: I need more than a little suckie suckie
Me: Ok, I can make that happen but just make sure you bring home everything on the list
Me: (again) oh and milk too
Him: It's gonna cost you extra
Me: I can handle that
Going about things this way has made my life so much easier. It allows me to avoid an argument. I get something out of the deal besides the food. And it creates some laughter in place of the snide remarks and attitudes that seem to be so common in an average 11 year marriage!

Facial Hair LOL
So I am gonna share something with you that I know for a fact most of my girlfriends would not share. I'm sharing it because I think it's pretty funny and so do the people I have already shared it with. It was suggested to me that I should share it on fb but I held out to share it on my blog instead.
I am half Italian (Dads side) My Moms side is a mix of a few different nationalities. Some of my family on my Moms side are pretty hairy. All of the members of my Dads side are very hairy. So naturally I am very hairy. I am constantly grooming some part of my hairy body. When I was younger, all of this hair really upset me. I was pretty embarrassed by it and even made fun of and teased on occasion. That just made me feel worse about it. To this day I still wish I had less body hair but I have come to embrace it in a way. I mean, it is what it is. I was born that way and so I just deal with it.
So of course I have facial hair. Facial hair, that's the term that most women/people use. When it comes to waxing, the term used is upper lip. Women say they are having facial hair removed or having their upper lip waxed or bleaching their upper lip. I however just call it my moustache lol I say I am removing my moustache. I do this moustache removal with depilatory cream. It's what seems to work best for me.
This is another one of those instances where most women keep this info on the down low. Only their closest friends know. Like no one (especially men) know that some women do indeed have a moustache and that they do indeed wax, bleach, shave, remove, laser...etc. I mean seriously, I see commercials for it all the time on TV. Magazines have ads for all of these treatments. It's pretty much common knowledge. Yet women go out of their way to hide the fact that they are one of the many women that have facial hair.
I used to be the same way. I didn't tell most people. I sure as hell wouldn't talk about it publicly like I am now. I went to great lengths to keep this dirty little secret all to my self. I didn't even like buying depilatory cream at the store. I felt like anyone who saw me with it was looking at my face in search of my moustache. I would hide it when I got home so no one knew I bought it. I kept it hidden so no one in the house would find it and ask me what the fuck I was doing with it. Then once a week or so I would go into the bathroom to take a shower and I would apply the think layer it takes to rid me of this dilemma. Then I would just sit there for 20 minutes till it worked it's magic. Then I'd rinse it off, take a shower and carry on with life.
After a while i let my husband in on it. Then one day I just decided that I wasn't gonna waste 20 min locked in the bathroom doing nothing but waiting. I had a son and a house to take care of and time is limited. So in the middle of the day I applied the cream and walked out of the bathroom like nothing was going on. I started doing chores. This made more sense to me. When my husband and son walked in and saw me like that, they did a double take and had that what the fuck is going on look on their faces. I told them and they laughed hysterically for what seemed like hours. They made fun of me for quite some time. My husband said it reminded him of Hulk Hogans moustache so we started calling it "doing the hogan" We still do to this day.
Now a days, it's not a big deal. It's become so normal to them that I don't even think they notice.
When my son was about 8, (he'll be 15 next month) I was at the kitchen counter cooking or something. He came in and saw my with the cream on my upper lip. This was when it was still very funny to him. He left the room only to come back a minute later with my camera and as he was cracking up, he snapped the below photo of me. He thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever done and said he would use it to blackmail me. Yeah, ok, we'll see about that.
I once had a convo with my Sister about this topic and this pic. I sent it to her and we had a good laugh. She couldn't believe I had kept it. I can't deny that it is a pretty funny pic. LOL
The next day the facebook status of a good friend said "Time to make some big changes in my life"
So I sent the same pic to her cell phone, with the text "Yesterday, I made some big changes in my life...I went from male to female. Joe calls this doing the Hogan cause it reminds him of Hulk Hogans moustache LOL" She then replied with "You should make this your profile pic...Brother" I busted out laughing. I love her lol
Now I know some of you will wonder why I would share this and with pics even. Well one reason would be cause it's hilarious to me. Another would be to prove that it doesn't have to be some secret you take to your grave. Then there's the simple fact that I have a theory about things like this, If I put it out there in the open and poke fum of my self. Well, they will never be able to use it against me. Like how my son planned to blackmail me with that pic.....he's got nothin on me now lol. This theory of mine, can be applied to so many things in life. You will hear me use it more than a few times in this blog. This happens to be a silly example, but in future posts you will find that it can be applied to very serious situations.
Hope you got a laugh out of this!

Yogurt, A Frosty Treat
Try throwing a yogurt in the freezer for an hour. Mix and enjoy. DO NOT FREEZE IT SOLID it doesn't thaw well. It's better for you than ice cream but just as satisfying and so tasty.
Yogurt Dots
I use a Silpat mat but you can use parchment paper, foil, baking dish, cookie sheet or any plate will do. Spray very lightly with cooking spray if needed. I use a Ziploc bag as a piping bag but you can use a spoon too. I fill the sheet with small bite sized dots of yogurt and freeze until set. Remove from sheet and store in freezer in Ziploc bag or any container . Great for snacking. Kids love them. They can also be used in milk shakes or smoothies instead of ice. They won't water them down like ice. You get a smooth, creamy shake/smoothie.

Oops! Additional Info to my Glass Cleaner is a Gimmick Post
I forgot to mention NEVER use a towel that has been washed or dried with fabric softener (liquid or dryer sheets) to clean glass or mirrors. It too will leave a film causing streaks. If this is the case, re-wash towels with laundry soap and bleach if needed. Also paper towel will NOT work. They have something in them that cause streaks

Oops! Additional Info to Chicken Breast Post
I have to add to my roasted chicken post. Sine most of you have already read it, I figured I'd do a separate post with the link to my original post so you don't have to read it twice.
I said use Pam, but you can use any cooking spray.
I didn't say why I use it either. I use it instead of butter or whatever to cut calories. It also helps when/if you use the pan drippings for gravy or sauce to not have fat in it. Which I don't like. Spraying it on the chicken helps the spices to stick to it too!
I didn't tell you about gravy either. Sometimes I don't make gravy but when I do, I usually don't enough drippings to make the amount of gravy I want. So if I make chicken and don't plan on using the drippings, I pour it into a container and freeze them for the next time. I add it to next times drippings or I use it for it's own gravy.
Gravy. I don't make a rue cause I don't like the fat. I make a paste with water and flour. I mix it well till lumps are gone. I make it as thick as I want my gravy. (you can always mix and add more if it's not thick enough, just make sure you cook it long enough to cook the flour taste off) I think this is called a slurry.
I put dripping in a pot, straining them if needed and add slurry mixture. Whisk and cook like you would any gravy. I use a few tsp's or TBSP's of gravy master or kitchen bouquet. For flavor and a darker color. Comes out the same as any gravy just less fat!

Baking Rice
I'm not good at cooking rice for some reason. It never comes out right. I've always wanted a rice cooker but that's a whole nother appliance I don't have room for and it costs money I don't have. I also make a lot of rice at once cause I use it for other meals that week and I often make some kind of grain to eat with veggies for my lunches and such. One day I was watching Alton Brown and he taught me how to bake rice. I've been doing it even since, comes out perfect every time. It's also very easy to do. It does take longer though but that's ok with me.
Spray an appropriate sized baking dish with cooking spray add rice, water (use the 2 to 1 ratio brown rice requires more water, use ratio on pkg) I use a few drops of olive oil but you can use a TBSP of butter or margarine or whatever. Salt and pepper if you want. You can also use stock for more flavor. Eventually I will be posting about veggie stock and other stocks so be on the look out for that.
Cover tight with foil. Center rack, bake @ 325-350 for an hour or a bit longer.

Glass Cleaner Is Just A Gimmick
I don't care what you think works, it probably still leaves streaks. Streaking is just a word to describe a film or residue left behind. For years, cleaning mirrors and glass got on my nerves so badly. I have tried it all, every cleaner, every trick and still was always left with streaks. That is untill I found the little white towel.
If you don't know what the little white towels are, read my post about them.
http://mytwocents-meliss.blogspot.com/2011/08/little-white-towel-throughout-this-site.html
Glass cleaner is basically soap, with vinegar, water and whatever else. Streaking is just a word to describe a film or residue left behind. So if you use glass cleaner, you are putting a residue on and then rubbing it in till it's dry, leaving a film behind. Glass cleanerunneccesary. Above all I am not a fan of paying a couple bucks for something that only has one use.
I use 3 little white towels 1 wet, 2 dry. I wipe the mirror or glass down with the wet one, rubbing hard where or if needed to remove spots then drying it with the dry one until it is completely dry. When your dry towel gets damp, it's useless so that's where the second dry towel comes in. When drying, use light, fast strokes, you'll get it dry faster that way. NO cleaner and NO streaks, because, water doesn't leave a film.
If there ever is some nasty stuff, say on a bathroom mirror. Then I'll use a spritz of whatever bathroom cleaner I have, then I'll rinse it off with a wet towel then dry. The key is to RINSE off the cleaner if you use it. I usually just use really HOT water for my wet towel, it works just as well, better if you ask me... cause it's FREE.
HINT: Never clean glass/mirrors in sunlight or bright light.
I do have glass cleaner I use it for my car windows. I think Perfect Glass makes the best one. I use the glass cleaner THEN RINSE it with a wet towel and dry... NO STREAKS EVER!
You don't lick, eat off, or really touch mirrors or windows, so water is really all you need anyway.
When I had my own home office cleaning business, my customers always noticed that there weren't any streaks ever on there mirrors. I got a lot of compliments about it. They all wanted to know how I did it. Now all of you know too.
